We were approached with multiple requests to find a way to specifically help Upcountry people. To keep it Upcountry. We couldn't ignore it... so we put out a call for help. Well, you guys definitely showed what it means to be #UpcountrySTRONG. Thanks to all of you, we were able to provide food for 200 Upcountry families! This has to be the best community to live in. The amount of support has been incredible! We used the funds collected to purchase canned and dry goods, as well as heartier vegetables. We tried to purchase from Upcountry farmers when we could, to keep the funds as Upcountry as possible. The remarkable people at Makawao Strong showed up to do the work. They are selfless and driven and love Upcountry as much as we do! We look forward to collaborating again. Seeing businesses like Polli's Mexican Restaurant and Anytime Fitness Maui answer our call for help gave this momentum... almost immediately after we did our first post, they decided to come forward. Haleakala Ranch provided the ground beef through Maui Cattle Company . They've been itching to contribute and as our ability to take on more families grew, they continued to up their beef donation to match it! Oskie Rice Arena and Kaonoulu Ranch provided the location and some funding... Our donation attempts could have fallen through without it. So, thank you. Without you, we would not be able to do things like this safely. Thank you to all of those who came forward... Maui Gold Pineapple for your mountain of pineapples... Don't forget all of the individuals from near and far that donated! We even had an aunty at the store that donated some of her proceeds from a garage sale she held the weekend before!
